Further update: Suspect in George Town Shooting Incident Charged

Police have now charged a 34 year of old George Town man in relation to the shooting incident that occurred near McField Lane and School Road during the early morning hours of Saturday March 28th 2015.

He has been charged with Possession of an unlicensed firearm and Wounding.

He remains in police custody and will appear in Court next week. The other two males who were arrested in relation to the same incident have been released on police bail while investigations continue.

UPDATE Arrests made  Re – Shooting at McField Square: update  to Three Female Adults Being Treated for Gunshot Wounds

This afternoon three males have been arrested in two separate proactive operations in George Town. The three males, ages 34, 30 and 26 have been arrested on suspicion of Attempted Murder and firearm offenses.

These arrests were made in connection to the shooting that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning in central George Town.

They are currently in custody as inquiries continue.

Two of the three females shot in the early hours of Saturday morning at an afterhours “session” in central George Town remain in hospital. They have been treated for their injuries and are now recovering.

The third female was treated and released.

A Major Incident Room has been set up at the George Town Police Station

Detective Chief Inspector Malcolm Kay stated “As the investigation into this indiscriminate shooting continues we are still very interested in speaking to anyone who was in the vicinity of McField Square off School Road at approximately 4.00am on Saturday morning to come forward and contact us at George Town CID on 949 4222 , the MIR on 926 3975 or Crime Stoppers on 1 800 TIPS”.

Three Female Adults Being Treated for Gunshot Wounds

At 4:08AM Saturday 28 March 2015 the George Town Hospital reported that there were three females at the hospital with gunshot wounds. The police responded immediately and the matter is under investigation by the George Town CID.

Two of the victims appear to have sustained injuries that are NOT life threatening. The other sustained multiple gunshot wounds and is being treated; her condition is considered serious.

The RCIPS is appealing fro witnesses who might have been in the vicinity of McField Square, George Town on the night of Friday 27 March 2015 to Saturday morning 28 March 2015. Any person who might have information in relation to this incident is asked to telephone 949 7777 or 800 TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous.

 

MVA Overturned bus

At approximately 5.57am emergency services responded to a two vehicle MVA on Crewe road vicinity of Mango Tree restaurant where three persons sustained injuries, extent unknown at his time. Oil spill on the road.

MVA occurred when passenger bus and motor car collided and passenger bus overturned.

Motorist are asked to avoid the area. Traffic travelling from eastern district direction should travel down on Smith road by Cricket field stop light and traffic travelling on crewe road should avoid making a right turn by Mango tree.

Road will be closed.

RCIPS is seeking any witnesses to this accident to please contact the George Town Police Station at 9494222.
