Meal production change for George Town, Grand Cayman Meals on Wheels

Meals produced for Meals on Wheels seniors in need in the George Town and West Bay districts will be produced by a new contractor beginning Tuesday 4th July, 2018.

Rehoboth Ministries, led by Beulah McField, has been the longtime contractor for Meals on Wheels and recently decided to close the operation of the kitchen from the T.E. McField Civic Centre, located across the road from the Annex in George Town.  Meals On Wheels submitted a request for proposal to several prominent businesses in the community with the capacity to produce over 100 meals each day, Monday through Friday, for the non-profit organization.

Meals on Wheels presently works with four contractors to produce meals in all five districts, with Champion House II now joining the fight to end senior hunger in Cayman.

Meals On Wheels looks forward to continuing to provide a nutritious hot meal and a soup daily to seniors in need, the homebound and the disabled in Grand Cayman. Meals on Wheels presently serves 223 individuals in our community. Meals are delivered by over 100 dedicated volunteers who donate their time, gas and smiles to deliver the meals. It only costs $5 per day to feed a Senior in need. For more information about the program you may contact [email protected].
