Camana Bay, Grand Cayman (30 April 2014): From a photo session to capture that rare and wonderful mother’s love to perusing an eclectic art exhibit by several artists to creating your own chalk art on the streets of Camana Bay to a traditional fish fry on a private island – there’s always something happening at Camana Bay.

The “Night of Champions” Martial Arts Exhibition

Cayman Islands Nurses Association 5K

The Cayman Islands Nurses Association will hold its annual 5K run/walk to raise funds in support of the educational betterment of the nursing profession in Cayman. The race will begin and end at Camana Bay. Pre-registration can be made online at caymanactive.com or on the day from 6am at the base of The Observation Tower. Rotary Science Fair

The Rotary Central Science Fair is an annual event designed to foster students’ interest in science, scientific method of problem solving and build the sense of accomplishment and discovery that comes with preparing a science project. Young participants will wow judges and spectators with their science skills as they compete for a cash prize that will assist them with their future college studies. Runner up prizes will also be awarded. Judging will take place between 10am and 3pm at Camana Bay’s Arts & Recreation Centre, followed by an Awards Banquet at 6pm that parents are welcome to attend. 11th Annual Chalkfest Competition

Budding artists are invited to leave their easels at home and use the streets of Camana Bay as their canvas at the 11th Annual Chalkfest Competition. The Town Centre will turn into a larger-than-life art exhibit as participants vie to become chalk champion, creating works of street-art along Market Street. The competition is open to artists of all ages and abilities with a registration fee of CI$5 for kids and CI$10 for adults – proceeds will benefit The National Gallery Outreach Programme. There will be prizes awarded for the best work. Entry categories are: Primary (5-10 years old), Middle School (11-13 years old), High School (14-17 years old) and Adults (18+). Chalk will be provided free of charge and participants are encouraged to bring rags, sponges and buckets to help with blending and covering large areas. Free water and sunscreen will be available for all participants.

Drum Circle

Rotary Round Up 2014

The popular Rotary Round Up is back again! The Festival Green will transform into the Wild Wild West featuring massive outdoor tents decorated with hay bales, dude ranch style decorations and of course…the infamous mechanical bull. The evening will start off at 5pm with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by the live auction and then onto dancing, live music and bull riding with a special competition. The funds raised are vital for the sustainability of the projects and programmes that the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman supports and ensures their continued success. Tickets are CI$200 per person or you can purchase the Posse Package of CI$2,000 for a corporate table of 10 and for the Gun Slinger Package of CI$3,000 you will receive a corporate table of 10, one entry into the bull riding contest and a corporate sponsorship marketing package.
