CayWriters is an organisation whose vision is to promote writers in the Cayman Islands.

The event was a huge success with over 300 children and adults attending. Visitors were able to purchase locally-authored books, listen to author readings, sample tasty treats, listen to music and win prizes. Even Santa Claus took time out from his busy schedule to stop in, courtesy of the Rotary Club. A fun time was had by all.

Demonstrations were also given by library staff on the Cayman Islands Public Library Service’s 33,000 e-book collection and the online research database (SIRS), both freely available to all library members.

The library also organised a prize draw for a children’s bicycle. The lucky winner was Alexander Dalley who is a West Bay resident and is an avid reader who frequently visits the libraries.
