Kent McTaggart, community advocate and businessman announced his candidacy today to run in the constituency of Savannah, after much speculation and anticipation.

Politically, Kent has been an agent for change by pushing for legislation to achieve greater social fairness and dignity for all of our people.  He is the neighbor that does what others didn’t and won’t do.

According to Mr. McTaggart, our community is as strong as its families.  Caymanian families are finding themselves in the position of struggling to sustain, much less advance.

“I am ready to fight for Cayman, where we, the people are prospering once again and have the quality of life that is second to none.

Caymanian inclusion in the success of our island can’t be left as a memory of the 1970s and 80s, it must be part of our enduring story.  The past decade of political leadership that has focused on the next election rather than the next generation must be replaced by a new generation of leadership that understands that “Caymanians first” is so much more than a tagline.  I will use my voice and relentless conviction to deliver over the next four years for the advancement of the Caymanian quality of life.”
