UPDATE – Aug 3

Jesse Jackson – First Race Day Cancelled

Jesse’s race has been cancelled today, due to the lack of wind on the sailing course.

Jesse is still scheduled to sail tomorrow, Sunday 4 Aug, and Aug 6 – 8.

Due to today’s cancellation, it is likely Jesse will sail on the scheduled rest day, Monday 5 August.

FURTHER UPDATE – Day 2 Cancelled

Unfortunately, Jesse’s race has been cancelled once again.

After a two hour delay due to the lack of wind, the sailors were given the green light to launch. The sailors then proceeded to the sailing course, 3km off the shoreline, only to wait in the waters for more than three hours. The announcement to cancel the race due to the lack of wind was made at 4:55 pm CT.

At 5:35 pm CT, the sailors were towed back into shore arriving at approximately 6 pm CT.

The sailors are scheduled to race tomorrow, which was originally a rest day.
