iNews Cayman owners celebrate 30 years

photo_1Although it was supposedly only a St George’s Day Patronal Festival service at St George’s Anglican Episcopal Church Hall on Tuesday 23rd April 2013, there was a surprise for both Joan and Colin Wilson at the end of the service.

Mr. Wilson is a licensed Chalice Bearer at St George’s Anglican, and was also instrumental in putting the St. George’s Day Service together that included participation from the church’s youth as well as the adults plus an appearance from St George himself who rescued a lovely maiden from an evil dragon.

photo_2As the service reached a close Mr. Wilson announced that on Sunday (28) it was Joan and his 30th wedding anniversary and as Joan attends another church (Elmslie United) she wouldn’t be present on Sunday and would Reverend Mary Graham, Rector Elect of St George’s Anglican give them both a blessing now.

Joan was called up and joined her husband and Rev Mary provided more than a blessing. Their wedding vows were renewed before the St George’s church members.

Joan said it was the finest wedding anniversary present she could have received.
