Incredible sailing adventurer Dawn Riley to speak at Cayman Islands Sailing Club

Dawn Riley

Dawn Riley, one of the world’s best known adventurer-sailors, the pioneering CEO of a winning America’s Cup team and current America’s Cup challenge “American Magic” participant, will be speaking at an exclusive event at the Cayman Islands Sailing Club Saturday 12 January.
Dawn was the first American, male or female, to race in three America’s Cup and two Whitbread (now Volvo) Round-the-World Race Sailing teams. She also won the 1992 America’s Cup and a handful of World Championships.

Her professional resume is outstanding: she served as president of the Women’s Sports Foundation, founded by Billie Jean King; she was the 1999 Rolex Yachtswoman of the year, 2002 IC 45 Work Championship, the first two-time winner of the Santa Maria Cup, crewed on the Maxi Yacht Morning Glory which set the all-time course record in the 1996 Sydney to Hobart ocean race; she was the team captain of America3 in 1992 and skipper of Heineken, the all-woman team in the 1993-94 Whitbread Round the World Sailing Marathon.

Her sometimes harrowing experiences on the ocean provide for some entertaining sea stories, and her professional success as a leader, manager and team-builder are insightful for business audiences. Dawn has presented as a television host and at hundreds of corporate events, including those for BMW, Oracle, Microsoft, and Franklin Covey.

Tickets to see Dawn speak are $25 and all proceeds go the Sailing Club and their various programmes including those dedicated to youth. To book your spot, email [email protected] or call 949-8188.
