Ice on Ice event makes record donation to the Cayman Islands Cancer Society

Hurley’s Media and Z99 recently held the 8th annual Ice on Ice casino and cocktail event at the Marriott Grand Cayman with all proceeds of ticket sales and casino games benefiting the Cayman Islands Cancer Society (CICS).

Over 400 people attended the event enjoying a night of casino tables, where gaming chips could be redeemed for prizes. Four lucky individuals took away a 0.5 carat diamond found in the bottom of their welcome drink, courtesy of Rocky’s Diamonds.

Jennifer Weber, Operations Manager of the Cayman Islands Cancer Society said this is the best Ice on Ice event to date. “We are honoured to be the beneficiary charity of this annual event. Ice on Ice is an affordable and glamorous event that appeals to so many,” Weber said. “Everyone got really excited to dress up, play casino games and sip cocktails for a chance to win the diamonds all while helping CICS help others in Cayman”.

Jason Howard, Radio Operations Manager at Hurley’s Media said the donation made to the Cancer Society was the largest one to date. “On behalf of the team at Hurley’s Media and Z99, we are thrilled to be donating CI$17,536 to CICS to help cancer patients in the community. I’d like to thank our Z99 fans, event sponsors and community members for your continued support of this event.”

Sponsors of the event included: Rocky’s Diamonds, Butterfield, Diamond Properties, Davenport Development, Knighthead, Picture This, Save the Date, Walkers and many others for donation raffle prizes.

“The Cancer Society can’t wait for Ice on Ice 2019,” said Ms Weber.
