HFA choose Bodden and Nicholson as co-directors

Hedge Fund Association chooses Christina Bodden and Colin Nicholson as Co-Directors of Cayman Islands Chapter

The Hedge Fund Association (“HFA”) announced the appointments of Christina Bodden and Colin Nicholson as Co-Directors of the HFA’s Cayman Islands Chapter.

According to a release, these hedge fund industry professionals have been selected to direct the HFA’s local member events and educational programs, and to contribute to the organization’s global mission of increasing transparency, accelerating business and professional development, and fostering greater trust in alternative investments.

Christina Bodden is a Partner in the Investment Funds group of leading international law firm, Maples and Calder. She specializes in the structuring of private equity funds and advising on the related downstream transactions. Christina also works with institutions and hedge fund managers and their onshore counsel, advising on the structuring and ongoing operation of all aspects of investment funds. Additionally, she has a particular expertise in hedge fund sideletter arrangements and fund restructurings.

Christina joined the law firm’s Investment Funds group in 2004 and was elected as a partner in 2012. She is a co-founder of the Cayman Islands location of 100 Women in Hedge Funds and serves both on their local main committee and their philanthropic sub-committee.

Colin Nicholson is a Partner in Alternative Investments practice of KPMG in the Cayman Islands and is the Head of Learning and Development for the firm. Colin is a Canadian Chartered Accountant, CPA ( Illinois ), and is a CFA Charter holder. He serves on the Cayman Islands Society of Professional Accountants Executive Council and Public Practice Committee and is a past member of the board of directors of the CFA Society of the Cayman Islands.

Colin has 15 years of professional experience with offshore alternative investment and private wealth management clients. Cutting through complexity, Colin provides value added solutions to alternative investment fund structures across strategies and the US GAAP and IFRS accounting frameworks, including portfolio valuation practices, profit/loss allocation methods and financial reporting compliance.

The Hedge Fund Association is an international not-for-profit organization made up of hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, financial advisors, and service providers.
