First Choice Travel invites its members to popular Cayman Islands festival

MIAMI, March 31, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Members of First Choice Travel can enjoy plenty of rum and dress up like a pirate, eye patch and all, November 9-13, 2017. Suggested outfits include ruffled shirts, wide belts with large buckles, baggy pants and boots for men, and long full skirts for women. Hats with three points and colored sashes give a realistic air. These days are filled with an array of activities such as treasure hunts, music, street dances and so much more. At least 32 events encompass the festival.

This popular Cayman Islands festival features multiple Heritage Days locations for those who are interested in learning more about Cayman Islands history. The Ministry and Department of Tourism sponsor the Bodden Town Heritage Day. Other locations for Heritage Days are in the East End, George Town, West Bay, and the North Side. Heritage Days feature craft areas and live music that will prove entertaining for First Choice Travel members.

A mock investigation and trial of pirates that concludes with the worst of the bunch being banned from this Caribbean island is one fun event for First Choice Travel members to witness. A cardboard boat race is another activity that goes on during that week.

For the younger children there is a Float Parade, Children’s Fun Fair Day and Fireworks several days during the week. Other family favorites include the costume competition, the Mike Lockwood Memorial International Swim Meet, the “Teen Up” Street Dance, and the Illumination Night Parade to name a few.

There are several running marathons that are part of the Pirates Week Festival. A 5K Run, a 10K Run/Walk, and a Sea Swim at Grand Cayman Beach Suites are available for First Choice Travel members who are more inclined toward being physically active.

For First Choice Travel members who love to party, there are plenty of events geared toward that pastime. From the Pirates Dance, various street dances to the multiple happy hours sprinkled throughout the festival, particularly the Happy Hour and Finale Party at Cayman Brac Reef Resort.
