Final rosters announced for the 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf Under-13 Champions League

The fifth edition of the youth club championship kicks off August 10 in San Jose, Costa Rica

Miami (Friday, August 9, 2019) – The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) today revealed the final 16-player rosters submitted by the participating clubs for this year’s Scotiabank Concacaf Under-13 Champions League. The tournament is scheduled to take place August 10-17, at the Complejo Deportivo Fedefutbol Plycem, in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The 2019 edition of Concacaf’s youngest age tournament will be disputed in two stages, between 16 clubs from 11 Concacaf Member Associations. After an initial group phase, the top two finishers in each group will advance directly to the Round of 16, while the 3rd and 4th place clubs will continue play in the Shield bracket for final placement. 

The tournaments final and third place match, set for Saturday, August 17 at 12:00 pm and 9:00 am local time, respectively, will take place at the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto, home of Costa Rican club Liga Deportiva Alajuelense.

The official draw that determined the groups was conducted on Tuesday, April 30 at the BBVA Stadium in Monterrey, Mexico, ahead of the return leg final of the 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League between Tigress UANL and CF Monterrey.

In the previous edition of the Scotiabank Concacaf Under-13 Champions League, hosted at the Mexican Football Federation Headquarters in Toluca, Mexico, Los Angeles FC topped Juniors Tampico 2-0 in the final, becoming the first team from the United States to win the competition.
