DASHING THRU THE SAND BEACH RUN/WALK 2011

They’re headed here from all directions! From England, Ireland, Cuba, Canada, the United States, and other points as yet unknown.

Who are THEY? Repeat and first-time visitors who are arriving to join residents in the fourteenth annual DASHING THRU THE SAND BEACH RUN/WALK on Boxing Day, Monday,26 December.

This activity, sponsored by the Department of Tourism, and supported by Jacques Scott Limited and Tiki Beach, and organized by the Phoenix Athletic Club, has become a highlight and tradition during the Christmas season here.

Hundreds of merrymakers and holiday celebrants are expected to rise early and assemble on the beach just north of Hemingway’s to splash and dash their way approximately one and one-half miles to Tiki Beach, where breakfast will await.
The race is not only to the swift as the special awards to the ‘lastest’ male and female are much coveted.

Although awards will be presented to the four FASTEST finishers in both male and female categories, the LASTEST male and female finishers will not be overlooked. Many other participants will be rewarded with theme-related random prizes.
Starters are encouraged to don their John Broad-designed event shirts. If possible, shirts will be delivered to participants before Monday.

Potential entrants may complete registration forms at www.caymanactive.com and forward to [email protected]  Payment will be accomplished upon delivery. Additionally, event day registration will take place 6:30-7:15 a.m. under the Hyatt bridge on West Bay Road. Entry fee is CI$25
