Dart Real Estate submits application to extend planned vehicular underpass in Cayman Islands

Dart Real Estate submitted an application to the Cayman Islands Department of Planning on September 8, 2017 to extend the underpass along West Bay Road.
Modification of the Planned Area Development (PAD) is also being sought to include the Royal Palms land.

The underpass incorporates the two West Bay Road traffic lanes with sidewalks located on both sides. Pedestrian paths will wind along the east and west of the underpass, and a staircase will provide access over the underpass.

The planned road infrastructure is part of master planning at Camana Bay to facilitate expansion towards Seven Mile Beach.

“The underpass will achieve our goal of developing a walkable town, with ease of travel from Seven Mile Beach to the North Sound without having to cross a major road or impacting traffic flow,” said Dart Real Estate president Jackie Doak. “The newer, longer underpass will provide additional pedestrian access from Camana Bay to the Seven Mile Beach area, similar to the enhanced experience offered on The Rise, which has already been well travelled by residents and visitors.”
