CUC robbery report

Police have confirmed they have received a report of a robbery at the Cayman Utilities Company.

It is understood men armed with what appeared to be guns attempted to steal from the area of the building on North Sound Road late on Friday afternoon where members of the public pay their bills.

A spokesman for the RCIPS said: “I can confirm we received a report of a robbery at CUC. It appears the men were armed. We have no more details at this stage.”

Earlier this week Police Commissioner David Baines told iNews the number of robberies had dropped because of the rise in murders and he said he believed the two were linked.
