Cuba ratifies commitment to peace in the Caribbean

Port of Spain, Jun 6 (Prensa Latina) Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba Rogelio Sierra ratified today his government”s commitment to maintain stability in Latin America and the Caribbean.

As part of his official visit to Trinidad and Tobago, he held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Caribbean Community, Dennis Moses.

During the dialogue, the Cuban official said that his country will be firm in support of the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace.

He also thanked the Trinidadian government for its support in the fight against the economic blockade imposed by the United States more than half a century ago, which annually represents millionaire losses for the Cuban government.

In his official Twitter account, Sierra reiterated that the two countries will give continuity to the programs of mutual exchange in areas such as health, education and risk reduction of natural disasters.

The visit of the Cuban Deputy Minister to Caribbean countries from June 6 to 16 will also include Suriname, Barbados, Guyana and Jamaica.
