Cop caught parking in disabled slot – misleading

image004From RCIPS Mon, Sep 15, 2014 at 4:12 PM

Following the story published on the CNS website today captioned ‘Cop caught parking in disabled slot, again’ – the RCIPS Professional Standards Unit commenced an investigation to determine the officer responsible for parking in the disabled parking space at Camana Bay, which purported to have been taken on 9th September 2014.

Investigations revealed that the parking space in question was removed and painted over by the property management some two years ago and; therefore, the picture could not have been taken on the date alleged.

We do take this offence seriously and regret that due to the significant passage in time that it might be difficult to identify the officer responsible. All of our officers are aware that such violations will be prosecuted pursuant to the Traffic Law.

The police vehicle in the top left photo is the one published on CNS’ website alleging that it was taken on the 09th September. The private vehicle in the top right photo is what the same parking space looks like today.

Attached is a picture of the current parking space that was identified with the help of security personnel at Camana Bay.
