Concacaf: Club Franciscain, Robinhood advance to 2019 Caribbean Club Shield Final

WILLEMSTAD, Curacao.-  Club Franciscain of Martinique and Robinhood of Suriname are through to the final of the 2019 Caribbean Club Shield following Saturday’s semifinal action.

Club Franciscain doubled up hosts Jong Holland of Curacao 4-2, while Robinhood cruised past Weymouth Wales of Barbados 3-0.

Braces from Stephane Abaul (20’, 90+4’) and Djenhael Mainge (60’, 67’) offset a Siebren Hoekstra own goal (28’) and a Yann Thimon score (80’) to earn the 2018 Shield champions a crack at winning a second straight title.

In the day’s other action, Robinhood could not have had a better start as it took a 1-0 lead in the 4’ through Abraham Graves.

The Suriname side doubled its lead in the 23’ when Roxey Fer found the back of the net. The clean sheet victory was then secured with a Shaquille Cairo score in the 90+2’.
