CONCACAF AND BODYARMOR announced the partnership during a launch event featuring BODYARMOR stakeholder and high-profile soccer supporter Kobe Bryant, who along with soccer Hall of Famer, Cobi Jones hosted a soccer clinic for area youth at the Rose Bowl to celebrate the partnership and the kick-off of Gold Cup 2017.  One of the two Gold Cup 2017 semifinals will be played at the Rose Bowl onSunday, July 23.

“We are proud to partner with BODYARMOR sports drink, and proud of having Kobe Bryant and other high-performing athletes across multiple sports behind the BODYARMOR brand backing our 2017CONCACAF Gold Cup and capitalizing on the growth of soccer,” said CONCACAF General Secretary Philippe Moggio. “During this summer’s tournament, BODYARMOR will provide the best soccer players from our region with the latest in sports nutrition and hydration.”

BODYARMOR is a premium sports drink with natural flavors and sweeteners, potassium-packed electrolytes, coconut water and vitamins.  BODYARMOR sports drink is available in 9 great-tasting flavors. BODYARMOR recently launched BODYARMOR LYTE, a naturally sweetened, 20 calories per serving sports drink and BODYARMOR Water, creating a product range which has earned the backing of international sports stars including Bryant, Mike Trout, Andrew Luck, James Harden, Dustin Johnson and others.

“Growing up in Italy, soccer has always been a passion of mine and I’m thrilled that BODYARMOR is involved with this year’s Gold Cup,” said Kobe Bryant. “The Gold Cup is an intense and exciting tournament with some of the world’s best athletes participating – so it’s only fitting that BODYARMOR will be providing the players with the best hydration option.”

“BODYARMOR has seen tremendous growth across the country given that athletes today are demanding better-for-you hydration options,” said Mike Repole, Co-founder and Chairman, BODYARMOR. “BODYARMOR is a sports drink for the next generation of athletes and with more than 16 million youth soccer players in the US alone, we couldn’t be more excited to partner with the CONCACAF Gold Cup.”

The partnership marks BODYARMOR’s first foray into international soccer, and will place BODYARMOR on the sidelines of all Gold Cup matches.

In addition to the launch event featuring namesakes Bryant and Jones, BODYARMOR has plans to continue to engage fans and consumers during Gold Cup through social media and in-store promotions from coast-to-coast.

Taking place every two years, the CONCACAF Gold Cup is the official national team championship of the region, featuring top players from North and Central America and the Caribbean. Drawing large crowds and millions of television viewers from across the region, the Gold Cup is a celebration of soccer, sportsmanship, and culture.
