Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands (CAACI) featured on Discovery Channel’s NewsWatchTV

Screen Shot 2016-02-19 at 10.40.24 AMGeorge Town, Grand Cayman, (February 2016) – The Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands (CAACI) recently partnered with NewsWatch, a consumer focused television show that is a trusted source for breaking consumer, technology, travel, health, and entertainment news. The news show aired on the Discovery Channel on the 12th February 2016 at 7am EST and featured a segment on the Cayman Islands Aircraft Registry in a multi- media initiative (television, online and social media).

NewsWatch has a National TV distribution to more than 96 million household viewers through the “Discovery” channel, airing in all top 20 markets in the USA (NY, LA, Chicago, etc.) & over 200 Markets Nationwide. The programme will not be repeated by Discovery Channel, however the stories have been featured online through their Blog, website, and Social Media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Vimeo.

The focus of the segment was to inform and educate the viewers of the news show on the attributes associated with registering an aircraft in the Cayman Islands. As custodian of the Cayman Islands Aircraft Registry, the CAACI has technical/safety oversight of all aircraft on the Registry and promotes the Registry to target markets globally. Partnering with the CAACI, the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (DOT) provided still images and b-roll footage that showcased the Cayman Islands from a tourism perspective illustrating the unique beauty of the jurisdiction.
