Following the official visit by the Honourable Premier to the United Kingdom, His Excellency the Governor has today made the following statement:

“I accompanied the Honourable Premier on her call on the Minister for the Overseas Territories, Hon. Mark Simmonds, earlier this week. This was a productive meeting, held in a positive and constructive atmosphere. The discussion covered a number of areas of mutual interest where we would all like to see greater engagement between the Cayman islands and the UK, including access to Higher Education in the UK for Caymanians, access to healthcare, working together to design a competitive procurement process for the port project in line with international best practice and working together to improve the management of public finances. The Minister told me he looks forward to working with the new Premier.”
