RCIPS to Host 34th Annual ACCP General Meeting & Conference, 21 – 24 May

From RCIPS

The Cayman Islands will be hosting the 34th Annual General Meeting & Conference of the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP) at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort from 21-24 May 2019.

The overall goal of the ACCP is to facilitate regional law enforcement cooperation and exchange of expertise, and the Annual General Meeting & Conference is one aspect of this.

The theme of this year’s conference is: Improving Regional Policing Effectiveness in a Changing World and the objective is to bring together commissioners of police, senior law enforcement policy-makers, security professionals, government officials, industry partners and practitioners to discuss regional and global crime and security challenges.

The conference will provide a shared understanding of the challenges and problems faced by the law enforcement and security agencies attending and will also build collaboration and co-operation with regional counterparts and international law enforcement agencies in the fight against serious crime and security-related issues impacting communities across the region.

“We are happy to announce that the Cayman Islands, and by extension, the RCIPS, have been chosen to host this years’ conference,” said Commissioner of Police, Derek Byrne, “The annual ACCP conference is always a very valuable and informative event and having the conference here in the Cayman Islands means that many more of our officers have the opportunity to benefit from the workshops and exhibitions which will be happening as part of the conference.”
