Update: The proposed meeting to announce PROMAT has been cancelled -“Apologies, but this meeting this morning has been canceled.

The RCIPS is in the process of launching a new photo identification program called PROMAT, and is looking for volunteers to help populate the database with photographs.  A small cash fee will be paid to each person who participates, which entails having a picture taken at the CIG Detention Centre in Fairbanks during the week of 4^th July.  The entire process should take no longer than a half hour.

 

This program will assist the police in doing photo line-ups as part of their investigations by building a database of pictures of people of various heights, builds and complexions.

We will be putting out a call for volunteers tomorrow to the public, whom we encourage to assist us out of a sense of civic duty to help us with our investigations and our objective of strengthening public safety.

 

The Cayman Islands press have been invited to the Police HQ Thu, 22 June in order to provide background for their coverage of this call for volunteers.
