From RCIPS

Shortly after 1:00PM on Friday, 24 May, officers responded to a report of an assault incident in the vicinity of Olympic Way, George Town, just outside of the UCCI and CIFEC campuses. An adult female had been assaulted by a male known to her and sustained minor scrapes and lacerations reported to have been caused by a knife. The female left the location in private vehicle and was subsequently spoken to by police and other relevant agencies.

Officers located the male suspect shortly afterwards on Olympic Way. He attempted to evade police by scaling a fence onto the John Gray campus. Officers entered the campus and began searching for the suspect, while staff assisted in ensuring students remained inside their classes. It was soon determined that the suspect had left the location and the all-clear was given. The suspect was tracked and located at an address off Walkers Road and was arrested on suspicion of Assault ABH. He is currently in police custody as investigations continue.

The RCIPS would like to thank the staff of the John Gray High School for their professionalism and cooperation in this matter.
