Cayman Islands; Motorbike riders engage in dangerous driving at Rum Point, 13 August

From RCIPS Tue Aug 15 2017 at 12:32pm

On Sunday, 13 August, police received information regarding dangerous driving by illegal motorbikes in the Eastern Districts, culminating at Rum Point.  Uniform officers and the Air Operations Unit responded to the area, and upon seeing the police, the riders, six in all, spontaneously sped off in different directions.

One of the riders rode onto the beach, where it is reported that he nearly struck people and children on the sand. The rider was not pursued onto the sand, but spontaneously rode in that direction on his own.

The incident is under police investigation. No arrests have yet been made.

Anyone with any video clips of these riders or any other information is encouraged to call George Town Police Station at 949-4222.  Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via our Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777 or via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online at the link:https://www.tipsubmit.com/WebTips.aspx?AgencyID=681.
