Cayman Islands: Local ganja cultivation discovered and seized, 25 July

Local Ganja Cultivation Discovered and Seized, 25 July

From RCIPS

On Tuesday, 25 July, just after 9am, police officers in the Eastern Districts acted on information from the public and carried out a search of an open lot in the Frank Sound Road area of the district of North Side under the Misuse of Drugs Law, 2017 Revision.

During a search of the open lot, officers located and seized approximately eighty (80) ganja plants being cultivated on the premises. The plants were all seized by the police, but no arrests were made.  A picture of the plants is attached (note that multiple plants can be contained in one pot).

“We would like to thank and commend those members of the community who contacted us for working with us to prevent the use and spread of drugs throughout the districts,” said Inspector Rudi Gordon, Neighbourhood Inspector for the Eastern Districts.
