Cayman Islands Invictus Reggae Classic Track & Field Meet – Special Prizes

The Invictus Sports Academy’s Invictus Reggae Classic Track & Field Meet on the 9th and 10th June 2017 at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex, will not only feature good athletic completion but will also see athletes competing for their Primary and High Schools also engaged in battle to win a 50” flat screen television for their School.

Primary School athletes will compete in the Under 9 and Under 11 Divisions. The Under 9-year old athletes will compete in the 100m. 200m, 4x100m and Long Jump events. Competition in the Under 11-year old Division will be in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 4x100m and Long Jump events.

High Schools will compete in four Categories, to wit the Under 13, 15, 17 and 20 groupings in the following events. These athletes will face competition in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 4x100m and Long Jump events. In addition these schools are eligible to enter teams in the Open 4x400m, 1500m and 3000m events.

The School winning the most Gold medals in both divisions will walk away with the top prize. In the event there is a tie in Gold medals won the award will go to the School with the most Bronze medals with the tie=breaker being decided thereafter by the most Bronze medals and thereafter finals placings (4th-8th).

Bragging rights and Trophies will be at stake in the Banks & Utilities Division as well as in the Security Services Division, where teams will compete in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m, and an 800m mixed-sex Medley Relay.

Patrons at the Meet will also have an opportunity to walk away with a prize of their own. The Academy will be raffling a pair of boxing gloves autographed by the great Philippines boxer Manny Pacquiao. Patrons who supported the Club’s car wash fund raiser as well those purchasing entry tickets of CI$15.00 will have their tickets placed in the raffle bag, from which the winner will be drawn prior to the last event on the Saturday evening of the Meet.

Tickets will be on sale at the gate and will also be available from Members of the Club. Tickets will be CI$15.00 for those patrons wishing to enter the raffle and CI$10.00 for those who do not want to take part in the raffle. There will be no entry fee for children Under 12. Part proceeds of the entry fee will go Special Olympics Cayman Islands, with whom the Club has partnered.

Details of the Meet and Registration for the Meet can be done online or by downloading a Registration Form from the Clubs website at www.invictussportsacademy.ky. All Registration must be submitted by the 31st May 2017. The Meet is scheduled to start at 3:00pm on Friday 9th June 2017 and at 1:00pm on Saturday 10th June 2017.

The Meet is under the Distinguished Patronage of His Excellency the Deputy Governor of the Cayman Islands, Mr. Franz Manderson.
