Insolvency attorney Allyson Speirs recognised by local branch of the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals

GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands. 7 December 2017. Higgs & Johnson is pleased to announce that Associate Allyson Speirs received the 2017 Rising Star Award from the Restructuring and Insolvency Specialists Association (“RISA”) at that organisation’s annual banquet on 6 December 2017. Nominations for the award are submitted annually from among RISA’s 350 members. Other categories include Lawyer of the Year and Accountant of the Year. The Rising Star Award recognises the most promising Caymanian insolvency lawyer or accountant with fewer than three years post-qualification experience. Speirs completed her articles with Higgs & Johnson, which included a successful placement with Serle Court in London under the Cayman Bar Association programme, and joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2017.

“We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment,” said Higgs & Johnson Country Managing Partner Gina Berry. “Allyson is an integral part of our team and is certainly “one to watch” because of her contributions to the profession and the community, and her promise of leadership. We are pleased that the Cayman legal sector has chosen to recognise her knowledge, hard work and potential.”

Speirs added, “Being nominated as a Rising Star is an honour and winning this award provides additional motivation for me to become a leading player in the profession. I couldn’t have done it without all the support from everyone at Higgs & Johnson.”
