Cayman Islands Divetech dives into New Year

Divetech Dives into 2018 with Momentum and Accolades

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (Jan 29, 2018) – Divetech, one of Cayman’s leading dive operations and recognized as the place to go in Grand Cayman for technical diving and training, is heading into 2018 on the heels of a great year and a very successful showing at the Dive Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA) where industry business is booked.

“We had a great DEMA,” said Divetech owner and managing partner Jo Mikutowicz. “We booked several groups for the coming year, and it was one of our best DEMA’s in a long time.”

Divetech’s strong showing at DEMA, and the recent award from the readers of a popular dive magazine, encourages Mikutowicz who has hit her stride as the head of this dynamic operation. Each year, Scuba Diving Magazine asks its readers to vote for their favorites in the dive industry, so by popular vote, Divetech was ranked #17 among top dive operators.

“I am very excited for my staff and for Divetech’s reputation as a whole,” said an excited Mikutowicz. “I have the greatest most hardworking group of employees and I am really happy their hard work and topnotch customer service was recognized with this award.”

Lighthouse Point Reef, Divetech’s home base, was voted among the best shore dives by the magazine’s readers. From the dive shop’s front steps, divers enjoy an easy entrance and exit to an outstanding mini wall with colorful reefs filled with sea creatures of all sizes. Another attraction on this shore dive is the famous “Guardian of the Reef” underwater sculpture which sits in 60 feet of water just offshore.

Jo Mikutowicz says the company’s 2018 bookings are solid – individual divers, groups and reservations for special events, such as Innerspace May 19 – 26. Most of them are repeat groups (both recreational and technical) who know the value of Cayman’s dive product. Host the new groups booked at DEMA will give Divetech the opportunity to convert them into Cayman repeats. This year, Jo plans to continue to expand the operation’s popular free dive program, and she will introduce new pink (her signature color) equipment improvements.

“We just want to continue to introduce people to diving here in Cayman take them diving and help them have an excellent vacation,” she said. “We have a busy year ahead and I could not be happier to have my current staff with me for the adventure. Divetech has a great team!”
