Cayman Islands: Attempted rape in BT

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service is investigating a report of attempted rape which occurred at approximately 9.45pm last night in the vicinity of Monument Road, Bodden Town. The female victim was walking home from work when she was attacked by two males who dragged her from the road into some nearby bushes and attempted to sexually assault her. Putting up strong resistance she was able to escape from her assailants and run to a nearby house where she raised the alarm and got help. Descriptions of the two suspects are limited at present however one was described as being taller than the other and both spoke with Caymanian accents. DCI M. Kay stated. “This incident is extremely violent in its nature and as such very alarming. I wish to appeal to anyone who was in the area and may have seen anything unusual around that time. I would also like to remind people to remain vigilant when out at night and take extra care when walking home.”
