Cayman Islands are introduced to Dart Real Estate

screen-shot-2016-11-06-at-9-17-31-amTo better reflect the expanding diversity of Dart Realty (Cayman) Ltd., the company today announced that it has rebranded to Dart Real Estate and is now under the leadership of Jackie Doak who was recently promoted to President of the Company.

When Dart Realty (Cayman) Ltd. was first established over 20 years ago, its principal purpose was to develop the Dart family’s vision for a mixed-use master-planned community. Two decades later, Camana Bay is a thriving town and the company’s scope has expanded to include hotels, golf, marina, walking trails and more.

With the opening of Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa later this month, Dart is entering a new era with its first hotel complete and its first residential offering now available for sale. With a second hotel in the pipeline, Dart Real Estate has committed to invest an additional $400 million in the Cayman Islands over the next decade. Rebranding to Dart Real Estate represents the diversity of this portfolio.

As a developer with a long-term outlook, Dart has evolved and grown to become one of the region’s foremost real estate developers employing people in a broad range of roles and offering multiple career opportunities.
“In the past 20 years, Dart has grown from being Ken Dart’s family office to one of the Island’s largest employers,” said Mark VanDevelde, CEO of parent company Dart Enterprises. “Jackie joined the company in 2003 and was part of the leadership team instrumental in the conceptualisation of Camana Bay and the negotiation and execution of the National Road Authority agreement. We are fortunate to have a leader like Jackie who embraces and maximises every opportunity to make Ken Dart’s vision a reality.”

Dart’s portfolio is diverse but each property bears the hallmarks of a company committed to design excellence and creating places that people want to be. At Camana Bay, the goal was to create a walkable community where people would come to live, work, play and learn. Today, over 3,000 people visit Camana Bay’s shops, restaurants, offices and public spaces every day.

“We take the long-term view to development, as our commitment is to the destination rather than the individual investment,” said Jackie Doak. “With thoughtful design and programming, buildings and outdoor spaces become more than just bricks and mortar. They become places where people can have meaningful experiences, where memories are created and where there are compelling reasons to return.”

Dart Real Estate’s new website — dartrealestate.com — introduces the tagline “Architects of Lifestyle: Shaping the way we live, work and play” and illustrates the development vision with history, photos and videos of the company’s portfolio. It presents a comprehensive overview of Dart Real Estate’s capabilities, from ideation through asset management, including its collaboration with sister company DECCO which is responsible for the design, development and construction management of all Dart projects.

“Dart Real Estate has rebranded, but the company values and philosophy remain unchanged,” said Doak. “Dart’s commitment remains to create places that inspire and enhance the quality of life for all who live in and visit the Cayman Islands.”
