Cayman: Further growth with eight promotions for Mourant

Leading offshore law firm, Mourant, has announced eight promotions in its Cayman Islands office.

Christopher Levers has been promoted to Counsel in the Litigation team.  His practice covers all areas of international commercial, insolvency and contentious trust litigation, and he has been a key team member in some of the firm’s largest and most complex cases in recent years. Christopher commented: “I am very grateful to Mourant for the support and encouragement it has provided since I joined the firm five years ago. I look forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of our market leading dispute resolution practice.”

Finn Howie, Gemma Cowan and Rhiannon Williams from the Finance, Corporate and Funds team have been promoted to Senior Associates, along with Jessica Vickers from the Litigation team.

Mourant Governance Services has also seen significant growth of over 30 percent in the past year and has promoted Caymanians Chelsea Ayala, Julie Meinert and Sholey Thomas to Senior Administrator.

Cayman Islands office Managing Partner, Hayden Isbister, said: “These recent promotions are
well-deserved and come at a key stage of our ongoing strategic expansion in the Cayman Islands. They send a strong signal to the market in terms of our growth and capability, and they also demonstrate our commitment to developing exceptionally talented people across all areas of our business.”

Mourant’s Cayman Islands office has seen an overall headcount increase of over ten percent since last year.  The firm continues to be recognised by the world’s leading legal directories for its work on many of the most significant offshore transactions and cases in the market, having maintained high rankings in both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 this year.
