Rotary Clubs are trying to make that a big ZERO.

To raise funds Rotary are hosting a Dress Down day and collecting funds from participating corporations. They will also host a happy hour today (Fri 24) from 5:30pm at Cayman Cabana.

Cayman Cadets hold a garage sale Sat (25)

The Cayman Islands Cadet Corps’ new detachment Section 9, will be having a garage sale this Saturday, October 25th from 5am – 8am at the First Assembly Church (195 Old Crewe Rd.) The Section 9 was created to enhance the development of the Cayman Islands Cadet Corps. It is designed to promote good citizenship, leadership, and spirit of service in young Caymanians by a regimen of high military principles, discipline, and standards. As a result of the funding budget cuts over the years, members of the section, said they feel that raising their own funds is the best way to enhance development and achieve the goal of getting much needed equipment.

This garage sale will be the first of many events planned by the section in the upcoming months.

“The Cayman Islands Cadet Corps is important to the island because it brings about discipline, ambition and ethics to Cayman’s young people,” a spokesperson said.

Clothes (baby, young adult, adult etc.) Electronics, (Televisions and DVD players) footwear, games, and house supplies are a few of the items being sold.

Men’s Breakfast Sat (25)

The Grand Cayman chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International is having its monthly meeting on Saturday October 25th at 8:00am, at The Upper Crust restaurant in Camana Bay.

Rugby sevens enters its fourth and final club round Sat (25) at South Sound Rugby Ground

The Estella Scott-Roberts Memorial Summer Sevens Series is on Saturday Oct. 25 starting at 1 p.m.

The final leg of the series is promoted and hosted by South African members and South African drinks and food from Boss Hogg will be available throughout the day to celebrate the country’s heritage.

The day will also be a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness, with everyone in attendance being asked to donate a minimum of $5 toward this cause and to wear something pink.

The men’s and women’s teams have used the series to fine-tune preparations for the Central American & Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico, the last week in November.

Both national teams will then go to the North American & Caribbean Rugby Association Sevens in Mexico City, which also serve as the regional qualifier for the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto and the Hong Kong leg of the World Sevens Series.

The Estella Scott-Roberts Memorial Trophy is up for grabs in the men’s division. Maples Academy team is at the top of the table with 45 tournament points, Fidelity Ama Tsotsi is in second on 33, Patron Barbarians next with 30, Peter O’Neill Wolfhounds with 12, Carey Olsen Westins & Co. with 10, and the Island Air Islanders with 8 points.

Monster Bash Sat (25) Treasure Island Resort

The Monster Bash will be held this Saturday Oct. 25th at Treasure Island Resort in the lobby bar area with Z99FM.

The event is free and begins at 8 p.m. when DJ Flex will commence to spin tunes. Prizes will include a one-night stay at Treasure Island, with complementary liquour for the best group costume, plus prizes for best female and best male costumes.
