carib11n-1-webBy Jared McCallister From Daily News New York

Spectators at the massive New York Caribbean Carnival Parade in Brooklyn were able to express a personal “thank you” for the valiant sacrifice of slain NYPD Officer Randolph Holder by recognizing his family members last week.

Randolph Holder Sr. and other family members of the hero police officer rode on the Daily News’s float along the Eastern Parkway parade on Labor Day.

Holder 33, a Guyana native whose father and grandfather were police officers in the South American nation, was killed in the line of duty on Oct. 20, 2015, in a Harlem gun battle.

Before the parade, Holder’s relatives were acknowledged by West Indian American Day Carnival Association members, community leaders and a wide array of state and city officials at the VIP breakfast held in Lincoln Terrace Park near the start of the procession.
