A creative twist in the Cayman Islands on a traditional Sunday brunch

Art Nest Creative Studio, in collaboration with Conscious Cafe, is launching a new event which offers a creative spin on Sunday brunch. The event, Brunch and Brushes, starts on 28th October 2018 at 11:30am to 2:00pm. Each Brunch and Brushes event will be themed and guests will have the option of dressing in the themed costume.

“At Art Nest, we are constantly looking for new ways to engage our creative customers. We felt that Brunch and Brushes was perfect for families to not only eat together, but create together,” said Christina Pineda, Creator of Art Nest Creative Studio.

The first Brunch and Brushes event on 28 October 2018 will be decorated with a Wizard of Oz theme and guests will have the option to attend in costume.

Local chef, Britta Bush of Conscious Cafe, will be preparing a healthy spread for brunch. Mrs. Bush graduated from the Matthew Kenney Culinary Academy in 2013 as a raw/vegan chef and has been brewing kombucha since 2008.  She has recently opened Conscious Café within Art Nest Creative Studio as a physical space to host Saucha’s vision.

“We are super excited to launch directly into a creative menu with a fun theme in our new inspiring home!” Mrs. Bush said.  Guests can expect a buffet of plant-based offerings that will satisfy all preferences and dietary restrictions.  For those craving a sustainable and local protein, eggs and bacon will be incorporated into the menu.  Menu options will showcase the theme, including an edible yellow brick road and Emerald City, weaving the theme throughout our consciously chosen ingredients. Guests will enjoy bubbles courtesy of Tortuga Fine Wines & Spirit’s prosecco brand Cavicchioli.  Mimosas and a themed cocktail aptly called ‘Ruby Red Slippers Punch’ will also be available.

Art Nest carries the largest collection of ceramics on island for all occasions as well as a wide range of ceramic glazes.  While brunching, guests will get to choose a ceramic pottery piece that they will paint at different stations throughout the 6,000 sq foot studio.  Art Nest staff will be available for assistance with painting and glazing and guests will have the option to put their unique touches on each piece.   Once completed, the pieces will be available for pick up 7 to 10 days after being fired in the kiln.

For an investment of $75 for adults and $45 for children guests will enjoy a healthy, creative spread of locally sourced dishes, drinks, pottery and paint. For an additional $10 or $20, guests will have the option to upgrade their pottery pieces.

Future Brunch and Brushes events will be held once every two months and will each include a different theme.

Situated on MacLendon Drive (behind Yello), Art Nest also offers work spaces, teaching and co-working space, event and meeting space. In addition to providing a place for its members to work, Art Nest offers retail space for artists to sell their artwork and artisan products.
