2 Robberies in George Town at weekend – man arrested

At approximately 1.30am, Saturday 22nd November 2014 a male and female were approached by an unknown male on the waterfront on North Church Street, the accused male armed with a knife demanded money. The male victim was taken to his parked vehicle nearby where the offender removed a handbag containing cell phones and miscellaneous items. The offender then ran off. He is described as 30 – 35 years of age, dark skinned, and is said to be around 5’8” to 5’9” in height, skinny build wearing a hoody and jeans pants.

At approximately 6.30pm on Sunday 23rd November 20114, an unknown male attempted to grab the hand bag of a female on North Church Street before running off after a scuffle.

A short while later, Police arrested a 34 year old local male from George Town on suspicion of robbery, he remains in Police Custody.
