A 12-Year-Old School of the Nations Student who was described as friendly by some of his friends has committed suicide at his Tushen, East Bank Essequibo family home several minutes before he was scheduled to leave for school this morning.

With no prior warning signs, the child, whose family has a popular business at Leonora on the West Coast of Demerara, did the unexpected act in his bedroom, leaving his parents and other relatives in a state of distress.

Even in the Tuschen Community where he is known, many persons were shocked and saddened when they learnt about the child’s demise.

At the moment many family members are searching for the reason for the child deciding to commit suicide, with some even wondering whether he was being bullied at school.

His body is currently at the West Demerara Regional Hospital Mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
